Your client stays in control

You receive a limited attorney key for documents, riders, and the capacity video — never revocation. Your client claims the registration with a one-time code and becomes the only person on earth who can revoke it.

The program is an attorney marketplace, not an extension of any law practice: POA Lock Inc. supplies the registry and software; you supply the legal judgment. The attorney-client relationship is between you and your client, established under your own engagement agreement — you review the client’s selections, approve the final instrument, provide the state-specific advice, and remain professionally responsible for the representation. Attorneys in the program set their own fee for the engagement and are compensated for the registrations they bring — program terms are shown inside the attorney portal below. Client-facing pages never display your compensation arrangements.

Program Compensation & Professional Responsibility (visible only to signed-in attorneys)

What each party is paid for — and which way the money flows. POALock charges the client a platform fee for its registry, verification, and secure-storage services. You set your own separate certification charge — the value you place on the instrument carrying your certification as attorney of record — for preparing, certifying, and attesting the registration and maintaining the record. When the client pays, POALock remits to you 100% of your certification charge, plus a share of POALock's own platform charge (25% of the base registry fee), paid in recognition of the value your certification adds to the registered instrument. POALock takes no portion of any attorney's fee. Money flows from POALock's platform charge to you — never from your fees to POALock — not as a referral fee and not as a division of any legal fee.

Legal services are outside the platform. Legal advice, drafting, and counseling must be engaged and billed by you separately under your own engagement agreement; POALock neither collects, holds, nor shares fees for legal services. You remain responsible for compliance with your jurisdiction's rules of professional conduct — including RPC 5.4 (professional independence; fee division with nonlawyers), RPC 7.2(b) (payments for recommendations), and RPC 1.5 (fees and disclosures) — and for disclosing this arrangement to your client in writing where required. Confirm treatment with ethics counsel or your bar's ethics hotline before enrolling.

Licensure & supervision. You may prepare, review, or register an instrument through the program only for matters in a jurisdiction where you are admitted and in good standing (or where your work is otherwise permitted under that jurisdiction’s multijurisdictional-practice rules, including Rule 5.5). By registering an instrument you attest that you are the client’s attorney for that engagement, that you reviewed the client’s selections and approved the final document, and that you remain professionally responsible for the representation. POALock is a software platform; it exercises no legal judgment, does not supervise your practice, and is not co-counsel.

Two ways to register: build a new instrument here — the verification barcode and code are placed directly beneath the signature line, so the executed page and the verification credential are one and the same — or register a power of attorney you have already drafted (including your own documents), recording its execution date, notary, and page count so relying parties can match the paper against the registration. Either way, you receive a limited attorney key (documents, riders, video, retrieval passwords — never revocation) and a one-time claim code to deliver to your client, who takes sole control of revocation the moment they claim.
