Remote Online Notarization
Notarize your POA without leaving home.
In the 48 states and D.C. that allow it, a power of attorney can be completed entirely online: signed and notarized in a recorded audio-video session with a commissioned remote notary. POALock is building a network of remote notaries to coordinate these sessions. As notaries enroll, you'll be able to pick one, choose a time, and pay their fee plus POALock's $25 arrangement fee — with the notarization completed on the notary's own certified remote-notarization platform.

Session Checklist (run by the notary, on the record)
Identity verification — government photo ID shown on camera, plus knowledge-based authentication where the state requires it.
Document review — the notary confirms the power of attorney presented is the one to be signed.
Willingness & awareness — the signer confirms on camera they are signing freely (pair this with the POALock capacity video).
Signature — the principal signs electronically (or on paper on camera, per state rules), witnessed live by the notary.
Notarial act — the notary completes the certificate and applies their electronic seal.
Recording & journal — the session recording and journal entry are retained as the notary's state requires (commonly 5–10 years).
For Remote Notaries
Notary portal — list your services, set your schedule, get paid
Set your own fee. You keep every cent of it minus a $5.99 processing charge for receiving the client's payment through the portal and transferring it to your bank; the client separately pays POALock a $25 arrangement fee. Your account is tied to your commission — state, number, and expiration — verified against your state's notary registry at launch (simulated in the pilot).
